First seeing release in 1996, the sophomore full-length from Suffolk blackened symphonic extreme metal entity Cradle Of Filth, was wrought with the type of bureaucratic red tape legal issues that juxtapose bizarrely next to their gothic theatrics. Serving as the follow up to 1994's debut album The Principle Of Evil Made Flesh, a resulting legal battle with their (at the time) label Cacophonous Records, would place the already recorded Dusk & Her Embrace in limbo, whilst the V Empire Or Dark Faerytales In Phallustein EP would be offered as a means of being relinquished from their contract. With the original recordings of their second LP retained and shelved, the material would be reworked and re-recorded with a new line up following the departure of several members due to the surmounting stalemate label turmoil. It wasn't until 2016 that the dust-gathering masters from the original sessions would finally revert back to the band, who would commemorate the project's 20th anniversary with a first-ever vinyl pressing of the OG album, complete with the subtitle The Original Sin. Initially only pressed to 666 copies (of course), these original recordings feature almost the exact same line-up as that of their debut, now finally receiving a long overdue wider vinyl repress only a near decade later.
