Gorgonchrist has begun its journey towards extinction. The exact timing of this disappearance remains a matter for supposition and hypothesis. Emerging from the post-industrial black sludge of 2019, Gorgonchrist’s debut album ‘The Blood of Endangered Species’ explores the final stages of human evolution and the resurgence of primitive culture. The sound is proto-language – lacking the fully developed structure of recognised communication and articulation but more developed than non-verbal communication. However, the depictions of oppression, disintegration and mobocracy can be clearly observed and understood.
